Pastoral Programme
Form Time & Registration
Form time takes place every morning and is an essential part of the pastoral programme in our Sixth Form. Our form teachers are highly experienced and have worked with Sixth Form students for a number of years.
Form time is predominantly used for:
- Providing mentorship and support
- Discussing pastoral areas, including concerns for future, finances, etc
- Supporting students in their academic progress and setting targets
- Planning for UCAS applications
Form teachers write the UCAS references for students and also references for apprenticeships and job applications so relationships between the students and their form teachers are very important and attendance at form is compulsory unless students have no other lessons that day.
Pastoral Sessions & Assemblies
The work in form times is supplemented by a programme of weekly assemblies and additional pastoral sessions that cover a wide variety of topics including safe driving, basic life saving, financial and budget planning, career planning and university options.
The Pastoral Team
Within the Sixth Form team we have support from a number of people who's primary role is to provide pastoral and academic guidance for Sixth Form students.
There is a support box located in a discrete place in the Canolfan y Chweched in which students can fill in cards and ask for support (academic or pastoral). The pastoral team are based in Canolfan y Chweched and can be accessed at any time.
The Designated Safeguarding Officer for Sixth Form students is Mr Stephen Hagget
